Ellie is 16! We celebrated this milestone with a party fit for a princess. The COVID gods smiled down on her and she was able to invite her ‘squad’ (Abby, Liam, Dylan, Dahlia, Victoria) for an intimate dinner (honey mustard chicken, homemade mac-n-cheese, green salad and roasted potatoes) and the rest of her friends and lacrosse teammates for a backyard party (rice crispy treats, cookies, donuts, chips, lemonade, tea, cupcakes). Everyone seemed to have a great time and I did my best to make sure that she felt special and loved. The best part was that Abby had flown into town to be here for her party even though the rest of the Benslers delayed their trip for later.
As always it was great to see Ellie among her peers. This time I stayed out of the mix and let her and her friends just chill, eat sugar, jump on the trampoline and run the neighborhood playing ‘Manhunt’. The Cavicchios and the Conleys (the Conicchios) stayed inside with a nice G&T while I tried to ignore that my baby girl is so grown up, the height of her heels and the plunge of her neckline.
She had a great time and I’m so grateful to be a part of this milestone!
